任长霞：廉洁奉献的人民卫士

任长霞，河南省登封市公安局原局长，是新时代人民警察的杰出代表。她以廉洁奉公、无私奉献的精神，诠释了人民公仆的真正含义。任长霞在任期间，始终坚守廉洁底线，从未接受过任何贿赂。面对犯罪分子的金钱诱惑，她毫不动摇，坚决维护法律的尊严。她常说：“我手中的权力是人民赋予的，只能用来为人民服务。”她还设立了“局长接待日”，亲自倾听群众的诉求，耐心解答每一个问题。三年间，她接待群众来信来访3467人次，解决了476户上访老户的问题，为群众排忧解难，赢得了百姓的真心拥护。

任长霞不仅在工作中廉洁公正，还时刻关心弱势群体。她收养了多名孤儿，为他们提供生活和学习上的帮助。她还发起“百名民警救助百名贫困学生”活动，筹集资金，帮助126名贫困学生重返课堂。她用自己的实际行动，践行了“人民公安为人民”的宗旨，展现了人民警察的高尚情操。2004年，任长霞因公殉职，年仅40岁。她以短暂而光辉的一生，诠释了廉洁奉献的伟大精神，成为全国人民学习的楷模。

Ren Changxia:

A People’s Guardian Devoted to Integrity and Dedication

Ren Changxia, former Director of the Public Security Bureau of Dengfeng City, Henan Province, is an outstanding representative of the people's police in the new era. With her spirit of being incorruptible and committed to public duties, as well as her selfless dedication, she truly interpreted the essence of a “public servant of the people.” During her tenure, Ren Changxia always adhered to the bottom line of integrity and never accepted any form of bribe. When faced with the monetary temptations from criminals, she remained unwavering and firmly safeguarded the dignity of the law. She often said, “The power in my hands is bestowed by the people, and it can only be used to serve the people.” She also established a “Director’s Reception Day for the Public,” where she personally listened to the people’s appeals and patiently addressed every question. Over three years, she received 3,467 cases of letters and visits from the public, and successfully resolved the long-standing issues of 476 households that had been petitioning for an extended period. By relieving the hardships of the people and solving their problems, she won the sincere support of the general public.

Ren Changxia was not only incorruptible and impartial in her work but also showed constant concern for vulnerable groups. She adopted several orphans and provided them with comprehensive support for their daily lives and academic development. She also initiated the campaign “One Hundred Police Officers Helping One Hundred Impoverished Students”, raised funds, and helped 126 impoverished students return to school. Through her practical actions, she lived up to the fundamental tenet of “the people’s public security serving the people” and demonstrated the noble character of a people’s police officer. In 2004, Ren Changxia sacrificed her life in the line of duty at the young age of 40. Her brief yet brilliant life exemplified the great spirit of integrity and dedication, making her an exemplary role model for the entire nation.
