一莲宣涟，是译廉宣廉的谐音。字面意思为一朵莲花掀起涟漪，意在通过翻译廉洁人物、廉洁故事这件事情，在学校掀起廉政建设宣传教育的新浪潮。

一钱太守，清廉为民

东汉刘宠，字祖荣，今山东省烟台市牟平区人，官至司徒、太尉。刘宠在任会稽郡（今浙江绍兴市）太守时，政绩卓著，操守廉政，朝廷调他为将作大匠（主管工程建设的官员）。在他离任前，会稽郡山阴县若耶山谷五六位鬓发斑白的老人各带了一百文钱（即一百个铜板），想送给他，可刘宠不肯受。

老人们流着泪对刘宠说：“我们是山谷小民。前任郡守屡屡扰民，夜晚也不放过，有时狗竟然整夜叫吠不止，民不得安。可自从您上任以来，夜晚狗都不叫吠了，官吏也不抓捕老百姓了。现在我们听说您要离任了，故奉送这点儿小钱，聊表心意。”

刘宠说：“我的政绩远远不及几位老者说的那样好。”老人们一定要他收下钱，盛情难却，刘宠只好收下几位老人各一文钱。他出了山阴县界，就把钱投到了江里。后人将该江改名为“钱清江”（在今绍兴市境内），还建了“一钱亭”、“一钱太守庙”。从此，“一钱太守”的美称便在当地传开了。

The One-Coin Governor: Serving the People with Integrity

Liu Chong, courtesy name Zurong, was a government official from the Eastern Han Dynasty (25 – 220 AD) and a native of what is now Muping District, Yantai City, Shandong Province. He served as the Minister of the Masses and the Grand Commandant. While serving as the Governor of Kuaiji County (now Shaoxing City, Zhejiang Province), Liu Chong achieved remarkable political success and maintained his integrity, leading to his appointment as the Director of Construction. Before he left his post, five or six elderly men with gray hair from Ruoye Valley in Shanyin, Kuaiji County came, each bringing him one hundred wen (copper coins) as a token of appreciation, but he refused to accept them.

With tears in their eyes, the elders said to Liu Chong, “We are simple folk from the valley. Previous prefects often disturbed us, even at night, and sometimes the dogs would bark without pause, leaving us no peace. But ever since you took office, the dogs have stopped barking at night, and the officials no longer harass the people. Now that we hear you are leaving, we bring this small token to express our sincere gratitude.”

Liu Chong said, “My political achievements are far from being as good as what you have described.” The elders insisted that he accept their money, and in the face of their overwhelming generosity, Liu Chong reluctantly took one copper coin from each of them. After crossing the boundary of Shanyin County, he threw the coins into the river. Later generations renamed this river “Qianqing River” (now located within the territory of Shaoxing City) and also built the “One-Coin Pavilion” and the “One-Coin Governor Temple.” From then on, Liu Chong earned the reputation of the “One-Coin Governor,” which spread widely in the local area.
